What Swimming Fitness Programme Would You Recommend?

I used to go swimming three times a week, for 30 minutes each session. However, lately I have not gone, and teh last time I did go I was wrecked after 15 minutes.
What is the best way to build up my fitness level again.

    As you progress build up gradually

    Get back in the pool.
    Get back to your regular 3 times a week.
    At first just swim for 5 minutes then have a rest for a minute or two, then another 5 minutes and so on.
    As you progress build up gradually /cut back rest times until you can do the full 30 minutes without dying.
    Be patient, enjoy the swimming rather than do it as a task.
